Course Description:
This course has been approved by the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy to meet the 4 hour ethics requirement pursuant to Board Rule 523.131. Licensees must complete this 4 hour ethics course on a 2-year cycle (i.e., every other year). In this course, Dr. Lampton discusses the nature of morality and ethical approaches, particularly as found in organizational cultures. She specifically addresses the rules and standards as articulated for the accounting professional and delves deeply into Chapter 501 of the Rules of Professional Conduct. The course concludes with a discussion of corporate scandals in the 21st century.
